The PMP® Certification Exam;
Category 1: Be a university graduate, have at least 4500 hours of project management experience in the last 6 years, and have taken 35 hours of project management training.

Category 2: Be a high school graduate, have at least 7500 hours of project management experience in the last 5 years (can be any role within a project), and have taken 35 hours of project management training.

The CAPM® Certificaion Exam;
Category 1: Be a university graduate, have at least 1500 hours of project management experience in the last 2 years (can be any role within a project), or have taken 23 hours of project management training.

Category 2: Be a high school graduate, have at least 2500 hours of project management experience in the last 2 years (can be any role within a project), or have taken 23 hours of project management training.

PMI recommends training for these exams. You can take advantage of Mentor Project Management’s seminar and certificate programs that last 23 and 35 hours.

It is not a prerequisite to be a PMI member in order to take the certification exams. The costs of becoming a PMI member and applying for the exam are;

For the PMI membership: 130 USD (for one-year membership + first-time entrance fee)
For the PMP® exam application: 405 USD for PMI members, 555 USD for non-members
For the CAPM® exam application: 225 USD for PMI members, 300 USD for non-members

PMI gives all candidates a registration number to take the exam. The exam can be taken with this registration number in one of Prometric’s online exam centers. There is no additional charge to take the exam.

Since August 2000, the exam can only be taken online, computer-based. These exams are multiple choice. The PMP® exam lasts 4 hours and includes 200 questions. The CAPM® exam includes 150 questions and lasts 3 hours.

Mentor’s Project Management seminars and certificate programs are given in Turkish but all terms are also provided in English. It is recommended that participants take the exams within 45-60 days after completing the training programs.

According to a survey done by Fortune magazine in 1998, Project Management was selected the number 1 career of choice and that this will continue to be a growing field in the coming years. The PMP® and CAPM® certificates  are registered mark of the Project Management Institute, Inc. and important steps to take in gaining in this new career.

 

Program Management Professional (PgMP)® Certification Exam

PMI’s Program Management Professional (PgMP)® credential recognizes the advanced experience and skill of program managers. Globally recognized and demanded, the PgMP® demonstrates your proven competency to oversee multiple, related projects and their resources to achieve strategic business goals.

PgMP® credential holders oversee the success of a program, grouping related projects together to realize organizational benefits not available if they were managed separately. It’s the perfect fit if you define projects, assign project managers and oversee programs.

Who should apply?

If you’re a program manager looking to demonstrate a proven ability to manage complex, multiple projects and align results to organizational goals; increase your visibility and value with your organization; and separate yourself in the eyes of employers, the PgMP® credential is for you.

PgMP® Requirements

To apply for the PgMP®, you need to have either:

• A four year degree (bachelor’s or the global equivalent), with at least 6.000 hours of project management experience and 6.000 hours of program management experience.
OR
• A secondary diploma (high school or the global equivalent), with at least 6.000 hours of project management experience and 10.500 of program management experience.

For the PgMP® exam application: 800 USD for PMI members, 1.000 USD for non-members.

PMI Scheduling Professional (PMI-SP)® Certification Exam

It recognizes your unique expertise and competence to develop and maintain project schedules, while still possessing basic skills in all areas of project management.
